New groups and programs:
Story telling workshops starts September 22nd. During a series of eight workshops you will explore your personal experience of recovery. Through the process of writing and telling stories, in a safe and nurturing environment where humour is used to lighten an often heavy subject, we are empowered to gain control of our lives. Wednesdays September 22, October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10, 17 - 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Wellness Recovery Action Planning group starts September 22nd. An eight week group on Wedesdays 1:30 to 4:00 pm starting September 22 at 36 Eglinton Ave W., Ste. 602 WRAP is a non-medical approach which gives participants the knowledge and ability to: reclaim their power, find and connect with community, create their own recovery journey, get well and live in wellness.
Mindfulness Group starts September 28th. This is a 5 week program that will benefit those new to mindfulness or those familiar with mindfulness and wishing to practice their skills in a supportive group. To learn more and to register please attend our Information Session on: Tuesday September 28th, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Class Dates: Tuesdays from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm, October 5, 2010 to November 2, 2010 (5 weeks)
Managing your Depression and Anxiety group starts October 13th. An Educational Group for those on Their Way to Recovery Wednesday Afternoons October 13th - November 30th, 2009 1:30pm - 3:30pm Limit of 15 people Participants will learn coping strategies such as: How to relax and deal with stress, how to create balance in your life, how to be comfortable in various social settings, how to feel better about yourself

Social Anxiety Support Group:
The group meets on Saturday Afternoons, 4 PM at Mood Disorders Association of Ontario, 36 Eglinton Avenue West in MDAO Group Activity Room 1.
In addition to our weekly meeting, we hold regular social events, at pubs and restaurants, where members can build friendships and practice socializing with others facing similar challenges. Click here for the flyer.
Family Matters Conference: Building Your Tool Kit

Family Matters 2007 was a conference focused on families in the mental health system. The conference was for family members, consumers and mental health professionals. It was an opportunity to explore important questions about how to support families, how to facilitate recovery, how to better integrate family members into treatment planning, and how to balance the needs of families and consumers.

Community Announcements: Free Employment Services to Persons with Disabilities
Ontario March of Dimes Employment Services offers free, comprehensive employment services to persons with disabilities. Our program is funded by
the Ministry of Community and Social Services (ODSP Employment Supports) and
Employment Ontario. We offer case management and job placement services, as
well as employment preparation workshops which include a six-week,
twelve-session Job Search Group. Self-referrals are welcome. For further
information and/or to book a seat for our weekly orientation session, please

Community Announcements: Social Phobia Support Group of Toronto
We are a group of people living with Social Phobia who meet weekly to provide support and encouragement to each other. There are no professional therapists involved. Our meetings are very informal and there is no pressure on members attending to participate.
